World′s largest LED display unveiled-led display screen
The stadium of American football team the Dallas Cowboys is now the home of the largest high-definition led screen in the world.
InstalLed by Mitsubishi Electric, the 544-tonne structure contains 2.695 million LED pixels and is made of four separate displays measuring 22 m by 49 m, a total of 1,078 metres squared.
The aerial video screen cost $40 million (£24.5 million) to create and will accompany new systems such as a fully-integrated scoring display, playback screens, gaming timers and ticket window devices, all utilising LED technology.
Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of Dallas Cowboys Football Club, said: "One of the central design elements of our new stadium is our centre-hung video board. This unique feature will be an iconic symbol of our building for years to come."
A prototype billboard advertisement was recently designed by Japanese firm Dai Nippon Printing, utilising LEDs and organic LEDs to create an animated effect of a crowd at a baseball stadium, according to Tech-on.
